Originally when structured settlements first came out, it was defense or insurance company driven. They had the expertise and they had the experience. What we quickly found out was that they were not in a position to help us. That wasn’t their duty. That wasn’t their purpose.

We have seen situations where a defense annuity broker may have a sweetheart deal with the defendant liability insurance company and the way that shakes out disadvantages our client.
